Day 336: From War to Hula

The first half of Day 2 of our vacation was a tour to Pearl Harbour, now know as the "World War II Valor in the Pacific" National Monument. Mr. E particularly wanted to visit the USS Arizona Memorial, as a cousin of his father was one of the men who perished on the ship during the attack on December 7, 1941. He had previously visited with his Dad when he was in his early teens but hadn't been back since then. We reserved a guided tour that also included a brief city tour of Honolulu on the way back, and it was a great way to see different parts of the city in a relatively short period of time.

The remainder of the day included some workout time, email checking, window-shopping at Crazy Shirts, part of the Kuhio Beach Hula Show, and drinks and dinner at Arancino di Mare. We capped off the evening with wine on our lanai overlooking the nearby hotels and the beach walk just about a block away.

Mr. E took numerous photos of the hula show, but we didn't bring the connector to upload them to the laptop, so the images below were found through an online search but at least give a pretty good idea of the entertainment we enjoyed:
