Oahu Trip (Day 1)
Day 1: Wednesday, March 15
SMF > SFO > HNL
Due to a delay with our flight from Sacramento to San Francisco, we had a bit of an extra workout as we ran from one end of SFO to the other to catch our connection to Honolulu, but we made it just in time and took full advantage of our first-class upgrade to enjoy several adult beverages along with the dinner service.
Mr. E had reserved airport transportation with Charley Taxi to our hotel, the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, and the taxi arrived promptly at the airport but then definitely operated on "Hawai'i time" during the journey to the hotel. *sigh* Thanks to Mr. E's "Elite" status with Marriott, our $30 daily resort fee included some extra value-added benefits, including a daily breakfast buffet voucher, unlimited DVD rentals, and upgraded wi-fi. Once we got into the room, we unpacked and enjoyed the comfy bed, waking up to a wonderful view from our lanai of Diamond Head and the ocean. Aloha!
