Fish Out of Water

Musings and observations about life from an East Coast native now living on the Left Coast in the California State Capitol since 2004. This fish has made her home in Madison, WI (7 years); Portland, OR (2 years); Las Vegas, NV (7 months); Middlebury, VT (3 summers); Marne-la-Vallee, a small town east of Paris, France (6 months); Middletown, CT (3 years); and Marshfield, MA, the fish's coastal hometown 40 miles south of Boston (17 years).

Day 125: Festival of Cheese

The Sacramento Convention Center, located at 13th & J Streets, just 1 block from the CPCA office, hosts a variety of events and gatherings throughout the year.  Today, the Convention Center was hosting the American Cheese Society's Festival of Cheese:

American Cheese Society will host its annual Festival of Cheese on the evening of Friday, August 1, 2014. One of the biggest and most comprehensive events of its kind, the Festival of Cheese will feature the 1,600 + cheeses entered in the 2014 ACS Competition, highlighting winners and recognizing their mastery of cheesemaking. In addition to an amazing array of cheeses, the Festival of Cheese will feature artisan producers and local purveyors of cheese accompaniments from crackers, charcuterie, preserves, and honeys, to craft beer that guests sample in their commemorative take-away wine glasses. Tickets are now available for sale to ACS members and the general public!

Mr. E and I briefly considered attending the event to partake of the munchies, but we decided that the $60 admission price was a bit steep, especially since I'm lactose-intolerant and certainly wouldn't be able to enjoy $60 worth of cheese, even with 1600+ options to choose from!
