Day 128: Starbucks Closure!

I learned from my colleagues last Friday that the full-service Starbucks at 15th & H Streets, which was the closest location to the CPCA office, had closed a couple of weeks ago.  Oh no!

This store got quite a bit of business from CPCA staff and meeting attendees, and the mini-store at the Convention Center at 13th & J Streets just isn't sufficient sometimes (not to mention that the lines get ginormous during large conventions).  Now, the closest full-service sites are on 12th & L, in the same building as the Hyatt Hotel, and at 16th & K, next to the recently-shuttered Monsoon Indian restaurant.

The only potentially redeeming aspect of this situation is the rumour in the online story that the 16th & K location may soon offer beer and wine.

Farewell, oh nearby downtown Starbucks.  Let's hope this closure doesn't signal future negative impacts on our stock holdings...
