Three Weeks with Mom

Saturday, October 3-Friday, October 23

I recently spent three weeks with Mom on the east coast to help with her retirement transition and also celebrate her birthday. Thanks to a very supportive boss and team, I was able to work remotely during this time despite the 3-hour time zone difference. I took Fridays off to go to appointments with Mom and get some projects done around the house (wash windows, touch up the cat painting, etc.). We also were able to meet up with Aunt M and Uncle J for a lovely outdoor dinner at Legal Sea Food in Braintree, our usual get-together spot.

The Percy Walker Pool in Duxbury was open again, so I was able to swim on a regular basis. Mom and I both had swim reservations on some weekend days, and I also went on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, which was a very convenient schedule. I really enjoyed my daily morning and evening walks around the beach area, especially because the views of the beach and sky and ocean were just amazing at this time of year. I tried to capture some of this natural wonder in photos, several of which I shared with my team at work so that they could see what I was experiencing on the "other" coast.

So instead of a lot of narrative, I'm just going to let the images speak for themselves as a representation of my time away!
